Inorganic nanoparticle embedded polymer nanocomposite for optical and magnetic applications

Metal oxides, mixed metal oxides, and metal nanoparticles embedded polymer nanocomposites possess a unique combination of multifunctional properties such as barrier properties and high ductility without sacrificing strength and allow dielectric environments to control their optical and electronic properties. In this study, nanomaterials such as Au, Ag, ZnO, TiO2 will be combined with polymers such as Poly Vinyl Alcohol (PVA), Polyaniline (PANI), and Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) etc. with the aim to produce polymer-inorganic nanocomposites that demonstrate improved thermal and mechanical properties, as well as enhanced electrical and optical properties. Commonly used tools will be used to characterize the prepared nanocomposites.
