Popular Culture and Media - POP

Popular culture (POP) is a ubiquitous and omnipresent cultural process which shapes and reshapes kaleidoscopic anthropogenic activities and worldview. The POP, as a grand research domain, is eclectic and multidisciplinary. The concepts of fixity and fluidity are used to unearth the complex relationship between pop culture and mass media and social media. Researchers in this domain are interested to explore the fidelity and depth of social media and mass media’s impact on pop culture and also vice versa Global researchers are now considering popular culture as new curriculum. A group of research scholars are willing to examine the relationship between popular culture and curriculum. It is suggested that scholars locate future research on popular culture and curriculum at the intersections of youth practices, pedagogy, and media.The research projects (and also research questions) under the POP domain are divided into (but not exclusively limited to) several knowledge specializations.

Popular Culture and Media- POP envisions navigating and critically evaluating the ever-changing landscape of technology, new media, and mass media within the pop culture laying the groundwork for future studies to enrich academic discourse and understanding further.

MISSION

1. Conduct in-depth analyses of the interplay between pop culture and various forms of media, exploring their evolving symbiosis and identifying influential patterns. 2. Develop innovative strategies to incorporate insights gained from the research into educational frameworks, aiming to enhance understanding and critical thinking skills in the context of contemporary pop culture and media.
