Effect of GHG emissions on health status in South and South-East Asian Countries

Using a dynamic health production function (HPF) of eight lower middle-income South and South-East Asian countries and employing a panel Autoregressive Distributive Lag (ARDL) model we estimate long-run effect of GHG emissions on life expectancy. We find that emissions of GHG significantly reduce the life expectancy which is positively influenced by per capita GDP and per capita education expenditure and negatively influenced by per capita emissions. The findings provide important insights of the determinants of health status and the effect of climate change.
