Integrating personality trait in an education recommender for better recommendation.

A recommendation system filters large volumes of online items and provides the suitable ones to users. It does so by using user’s preferences behavior about item. Preference can be identified based on personality, knowledge level and personality. The preference is processed through different recommendation phases to make the final recommendation. Personality is a psychological characteristic that influences cognitions, emotions, motivations, and behaviors in various situations. It influences the way in which people make decisions and reveal their long-term taste (preference in this case). One other important part of personality is that it can distinguish between students who are similar and different as they possess different learning styles owing to difference in performance. As a result, it is said that integrating personality with recommendation systems yields better recommendations, prediction, and accuracy. As result, in this study we would like to concentrate on the use of personality in the recommendation process of an education recommender. This will include identifying the key indicators that will help in detecting the personality of the students, analyzing the influence of these indicators on their preference for learning materials and integrating personality trait into the recommendation process.
